Meet the founder

Dr. Dhanashree Kadam

Founder | SafeMind Psychology Counselling Clinic | B.H.M.S | Certified Psychology Counsellor (NHCA) | Certified in CBT and Neuroplasticity | MBA in Healthcare & Hospital Management

My journey towards SafeMind has been a process of self-development. As an empath, I have always connected strongly to others and their struggles, caring to help them navigate through their difficulties. Yet, before being able to reach out to others, I needed to learn to listen to myself, set my boundaries, understand and nurture my needs. Only then have I been able to dedicate myself fully to serving others. With over ten years of experience, I have logged hundreds of hours listening to people’s struggles while endeavouring to create a judgement-free space for people to express their deepest fears and darkest thoughts. Over these 10 years, I have worked with children, teens, and adults, addressing various complex issues, including relationship and parent-child problems, ADHD, depression, emotional difficulties, and a sense of feeling stuck in one’s life. Drawing from my vast experience and employing a number of therapeutic approaches, such as CBT, DBT, EFT, NLP, and knowledge of neuroplasticity, I offer my clients a truly integrated approach to solving their problems. I believe that being in therapy should be a comfortable, safe experience, where the client is an active participant in the process rather than being told what to do by the therapist. Today, I am humbled and truly grateful for the ability to help people all around the globe, both locally, at SafeMind in Balewadi-Baner, Pune, and internationally, via online therapy. My mission with SafeMind is to help you return to yourself, to your true self!

frequently asked questions

Will my child’s symptoms change as he/she ages?

Childhood and adolescence are periods of significant change in a child’s life. The symptoms of behavioral health and mental disorders may look very different in a younger child versus an adolescent, and the therapies used for children and adolescents can be different, too, based on the research supporting their use.

If your child is experiencing ongoing changes in mood, behaviour, sleep, school performance, relationships, or emotional well being, counselling may provide helpful support. You do not have to wait until concerns become severe.

Counselling can provide support for anxiety, stress, low confidence, emotional difficulties, anger, school pressure, social challenges, behavioural concerns, family difficulties, and adjustment to life changes.

Yes. Counselling can help children and teenagers understand and manage academic pressure, exam stress, difficulties with concentration, school-related anxiety, and other emotional challenges connected to education.

The first session focuses on understanding your concerns, goals, and background. Your therapist will explain the process and work with you to decide next steps.

Parent involvement depends on the child’s age, needs, and the nature of the concern. Where appropriate, parents may receive guidance on how to support their child outside of sessions.

You can reassure your child that counselling is a safe space to talk and that they will be listened to without judgment. Avoid putting pressure on them to share everything immediately.

You can contact SafeMind to discuss your child’s concerns and learn more about the counselling options available. The team can guide you through the appointment process and help identify suitable support.
